"I do that when - there isn't a universe to save or I don't have other duties." He was close now, and she was close to him, and he wasn't sure if he ought to panic or relax and lean into it like he wanted.

He kissed her hair and then her head, again.
"Not many people get to come in here."

Cloak moved slightly away near the chair, making their presence less obvious.
Stephen felt embarrassed and not because of inexperience. They always had just leaned into wherever the moment happened to take them - but this was different. It wasn't with this Christine, and she had ... a different Stephen.
"It's okay, you know, if we have this one time. And if we can't have others. That is if - that's what you want, and if you don't. Er. I'll respect that."

"A little private space away from the world." Her apartment is something similar, a little escape from everything else.

She can tell he is nervous, partially because she is as well. But they can't seem to stop touching one another and stealing little kisses; they are both desperate for this attention and affection.

"I hope this doesn't need to be just one time." She wants to be able to see him, to be selfish about just this one thing.

"It's been a while. Since I've... with anyone." Her nerves are showing a little as well. This is very much still a first, despite all the things they know about one another already.

"Since the accident. Suppose I don't need to explain."
He wants to be open and honest, even if it's terrifying.

"I hope it doesn't have to be the only time either, but - there is another you running around, that happens to be married to someone else so we... have to be careful. You have duties, and I have duties. So. We won't neglect those." He's threading his hand in hers, continuing to touch her softly and inching closer.

"I think one of the reasons we might not have worked was because of - a lack of ... talking. I don't, for one."

"Stephen" It's a sad little response to him not having anyone since the accident, she kisses his cheek.

"Neither of us are the type to ignore our responsibilities." She is inching closer herself, pulled right into his orbit.

"I guess you weren't one to talk about your feelings?" She leans in and kisses his throat.

He sighs and starts to relax, kissing her shoulder. "Didn't know how, and ... I pushed this universe's version away when I needed you most. That and... I was basically dust for five years."

"Will you try to push me away?" She's sliding her hands down to start undoing his tunic. This version has some experience with the magical garb, so she isn't unfamiliar with how to get him out of it.

He shook his head. It was almost comforting to have someone else remove the tunic instead of trying to magic it off. "Not intentionally. I'll take the second chance we've both been given, I think."

He moved so she could undo what she was working on, unsure if her Stephen still had the scar from the Space Shards. He did but it was small and almost unnoticeable.

"Good." She nods. She gets the tunic pulled apart and runs her hands down his chest. He is gorgeous, scars or not.

This Stephen had some different scars, ones that Christine was memorizing with her fingertips.

He let her look, it felt odd and vulnerable, when he wasn't like this in front of people often. After all, she told him to face his fears.

He started a bit to try and take off the jacket she was wearing and the shirt underneath. His hands shook a little but he tried anyway, even though he felt a bit useless. She was touching certain battle scars that he knew she was unfamiliar with.

It doesn't bother her to help him, leaving her jacket and shirt tossed somewhere to the side.

"I'm nervous too, by the way." She offers, shifting to kiss over his collarbone.

The scars give her that little reminder that he is different, and that those differences are good. They are really good.

He put his arms around her and buried his face in her neck. She used different shampoo, at least it smelled a bit different. She was different. It was okay, he didn't mind that she was, he just had to remind himself and not assume.

"I think that's probably okay, if we're both nervous. Er. Would sitting on the bed and touching make this easier?" That way they could sit down and not hurry about it, and he'd have a bit more time to try and rustle in the drawer. A certain box of likely essentials definitely had a layer of dust, but it was there anyway.

She let's out a little sigh at having him so close, his breath just barely tickling her neck.

"I'd like that. I want to take my time with you, just in case we only get this once." She wants to have the memory of loving him, so she can keep it close to her heart.

"Okay, either way I'll be treasuring the minutes I get." If they weren't together forever that was okay. He'd accept that, but these memories would be treasured.

"If we only get the once, that once will be worth it." He took her hand and held it close.

It's a bittersweet thought, that they may only have this once. But it is better than never having him at all.

She moves to the bed with him.

"I love you in every universe." It seems like the right time to tell him what he had told her.

He leaned his forehead against hers, contemplating gifting her the repaired watch, but he wasn't sure if that's what he ought to do or not. She shouldn't take mementos back, perhaps?

He would have to think of it. "Time will tell how much I love you," he said quietly, moving to lie down on his side beside her and continuing to touch and remove clothes and let her do the same to him. There's not going to be hurrying involved.

That makes her smile, seems all Christine's have a similar gift-giving sense.

She takes her time kissing him, and learning the feel of his body. She is going to savor every sensation.

"You've not tried using magic in bed, have you?"

"Mm. Yeah. A few times. Not ... with anyone, though." He snapped his fingers and the clothes were folding themselves into a pile in one of the chairs. He smiled a little at the fact they were both naked. "Better?"

He wondered if she wanted anything a certain way - with magic - or if she just wanted to touch and be touched. He wasn't sure - he wanted all of it.

She giggles at their sudden undress, "cheating, but in the best way." She can pull him close to feel nothing but skin against skin.

She just wants the slow build of lingering touches until she is begging for more.

He chuckles at that, thrilled that he's impressed her in a way but also quite happy to just touch, and be touched and let things build into a natural frenetic rhythm.

And it does build, until she's putty in his hands.

She lays next to him, catching her breath and looking at him. She didn't expect their little meeting to end up like this, but she has absolutely no regrets.

"If we didn't have so many responsibilities I would be happy to just stay in bed with you forever."

"Don't tempt me," he murmurs at her, touching her cheek with fondness. "I think it's just one of the sacrifices I have to make." He tucks her hair behind her ear, loving the look in her eyes in the afterglow.

He didn't want to let her leave and go back to her universe, but - he also wouldn't stop her if she wanted to go. "We might have already caused an incursion, but - I'm sure it's worth it."

"Me too." It's a sacrifice for both of them.

"Totally worth an incursion." She laughs, wrapping an arm around his midsection. "And if that's the case, I may as well stay a little while."

He put his arm around her and kissed her head and closed his eyes.
He might as well rest, after all.

She is awake for a while, happy to be curled up against him. She can hear as his breath relaxes into a smooth, even pace.

She has missed this so much, the simple intimacy of lying next to someone.

Stephen slept for a while but woke immediately, and he had to get his bearings.
Christine was here. Not his Christine. Obviously. Different universe Christine.

"Do you... need to get back?" he wanted to know. He wouldn't talk about what he'd seen and touched his forehead briefly.
